Interview with Exper Partner: 123Wonen
Each month we give one of our Programme Partners the floor to introduce themselves and their services so you can ensure you and your employees are getting the most out of life in the Maastricht Region. This month we interviewed Joep Hermens from 123Wonen.
'Working for 123Wonen Limburg / 123Wonen Maastricht and active in rental of private homes and relocation for expats. If we do not have a suitable home in portfolio for an Expat, we can guide them with a "relocation" assignment in finding a suitable home in the difficult rental market. Through our contacts with fellow brokers, we often qualify for viewings quickly. We also screen the Expat in advance so that it is clear to the other broker that the rental candidate is OK. We support the Expat during the viewings, rental agreement and check-in (key transfer). If an Expat (staying longer) wants to buy a house, we can also act as their buying agent.'
How has your organisation been involved in Expat Centre Maastricht Region events or projects?
'Since becoming a Programme Partner in 2020, we refer Expats coming in through us to the Expat Centre for all matters outside housing (such as culture, medical issues, BSN numbers, bank accounts). Conversely, Expats looking for housing are referred by the Expat Centre to one of the 3 real estate agencies.'
How can your organisation add value to the lives of expats / internationals in the Maastricht Region?
'By guiding them in finding a new "safe and comfortable home", their own (rental) home. In a strange, new environment, it is nice for an Expat to be supported in their search for a new (temporary) home by "locals" who know their way around and who can advise them.'
What is the best thing about living in the Maastricht Region?
'The combination of Limburg culture, the beautiful Limburg countryside, the wonderful atmosphere in the Limburg towns and villages and the proximity to other cultures right across the border in Belgium and Germany. This region is very central in Europe. Less than 4 hours away (only 1.5 by train), you can even reach the cosmopolitan city of Paris. In short, many opportunities for work, recreation, relaxation, meeting. '
