Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) elections

Normally held every 4 years in the Netherlands, the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives) were due to be held in March 2028, though with the fall of the government in June this year, early elections will be held on 29 October 2025. Who receives a polling card?

  • If you are registered in one of the municipalities in the Maastricht Region as of 15 September 2025 and are eligible to vote, you will receive a stempas (poling card) that allows you to vote in your municipality.
  • If you wish to vote in another municipality, you will need to apply for a kiezerspas (voter’s card).
  • You may also choose to authorise someone else to vote on your behalf.
  • To vote in the House of Representatives elections in the Netherlands, you must hold Dutch citizenship and meet a number of other requirements.

More information on voting in the Netherlands can be found at the English website of the Dutch Government.
