Interview with expert partner: ABN AMRO

Each month we give one of our Expert partners the floor to introduce themselves and their services so you can ensure you and your employees are getting the most out of life in the Maastricht Region. This time we interviewed Roeland Heywood, Partnership Manager at ABN AMRO Bank.

Roeland Heywood lives and workes in Eindhoven as Partnership Manager at ABN AMRO Bank with a focus on international clients.

For over 25 years, ABN AMRO Bank has been the trusted financial partner for expats, diplomats, civil servants and international organisations. We provide products and advice on payments, savings, insurance, credit cards, mortgages, loans and investments.

How has your organisation been involved in Expat Centre Maastricht Region events or projects?

'For many years we have been a partner of Expat Centre Maastricht Region. Together with other partners we have organised many events such as Buying a house in the Netherlands. If you are an expat, buying a home can be an attractive proposition, even if you won't be living in the Netherlands permanently. We are planning new events for Internationals in 2025!

How can your organisation add value to the lives of expats / internationals in the Maastricht Region?

'Nowadays banking can easily be done online. You can open a new bank account using your smartphone even without a Burgerservicenummer, BSN (citizen service number). It’s also possible to set up an appointment at our branch in Maastricht. Our advisers are fluent in English and ready to answer any questions you may have about opening an account, savings, investments and pensions in the Netherlands. An appointment is free of charge, with no strings attached.'

What is the best thing about living in the Maastricht Region?

'Although I don’t live in the Maastricht Region there are a few things that come to my mind immediately. Like visiting Maastricht town centre, Vrijthof and the caves of Sint Pietersberg. And of course, who doesn’t like Limburgse vlaai!'
