Economic Board Arnhem-Nijmegen visit
This month the Maastricht Region received a visit from the Economic Board Arnhem-Nijmegen. A total of 25 delegates from institutes such as HAN University of Applied Sciences and ROC Nijmegen, also Gemeente Arnhem and Gemeente Nijmegen as well as Provincie Limburg and “de Human Capital Agenda voor een sterke economie en brede welvaart” (‘the Human Capital Agenda for a strong economy and broad prosperity’) regional labour market platform. Our partners of Welcome to Maastricht Region (WTMR) had put together an inspiring 2-day programme aimed at knowledge sharing and networking for a future-proof labour market.
The delegates started their tour in Maastricht. They were welcomed at the town hall by Ramona Corsius-Corvers, Project Leader for the Meuse Rhine Euroregion & International Labour Markets in Zuid-Limburg. A brief introduction on the international labour market approach was followed by presentations showcasing important border services such as the GrensInfoPunten (Cross Border Information Points), Grensarbeid (cross-border employment) and EURES (European Employment Services). The collaborations between partners such as the Expat Centre Maastricht Region, IND service desk in Maastricht and GemeenteLoket (municipal service desk) were also discussed. Many questions were asked and there was a clear appreciation for the increasing number of initiatives and collaborations in the Maastricht Region.
The group then moved on to a tour of the Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus. Other visits on this 2-day excursion included Maastricht Marketing, Universiteit Maastricht’s Student Career Centre and Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen and Brightlands Chemelot Campus in Geleen.
